Geraldine and John Di Marco founded A Touch of Love and Hope Foundation in 2014. The Foundation is dedicated to improving human lives within our local and local communities. It fundraises for programming to help children in the Commonwealth of Dominica, as well as to support local health care resources in the Greater Toronto Area. J.D.M. Realty Ltd., is a proud supporter of A Touch of Love and Hope Foundation.
The Foundation is a registered Non-Profit Organization with CRA. Its funding efforts are directed toward established programmes operated by its beneficiaries. A Touch of Love and Hope Foundation’s purpose is to bring the community together to raise funds in support of its beneficiaries. The community that supports and participates in many of its initiatives extends throughout the Greater Toronto Area. However, given the organization’s base and networks, a significant representation of participants and supporters are Senior Vaughan residents.
The Foundation’s initiatives raise awareness of key health care needs, both locally and internationally. The engagement of community members, businesses, media, governments, and organizations; increases the value proposition of individual events undertaken by a Touch of Love and Hope Foundation. Its beneficiaries are:
Peter Munk Cardiac Centre: The development of smart technology will reduce heart failure re-hospitalizations by identifying symptoms before they become problematic. This support helps to provide technology needed to realize the goal of: optimizing outcomes, improving quality of life and reducing re-admission to hospital for patients with heart failure.
Mackenzie Health Foundation: Mackenzie Health Foundation installed a new 3T MRI Scanner in fall 2014, with improved imaging capabilities.
Alpha Centre: Programs being operated by the Alpha Centre, Commonwealth of Dominica – a School for Children with Disabilities.
Roman Catholic Diocese of Roseau: Diocese programs are funded such as Dominica Catholic Radio; a national listener-supported radio program reaching rural communities throughout the Commonwealth of Dominica that is dedicated to integral human development.
Geraldine and John have served the community with leadership for over 50 years; they are lifelong volunteers engaged in many cultural and community organizations and initiatives. They have each received numerous awards for their philanthropic work.
